So, lots has been happening that I haven’t updated in here! I thought I’d better come catch up. I’ve finished a couple of paintings. The most exciting of which was a portrait of Aryan El Thessa from Tchaata Arabians in France. Owned by Philippe Ascaso. I met Philippe many years ago in France and was thrilled when he asked me to paint his most beautiful stallion. Aryan has such a dry face and huge inky black eyes. His eyes were a challenge to get just right actually, as they are so dark, but Philippe says that I did a great job and he thinks it is a very good likeness. It is my biggest painting to date. I’ve included the shot with my hand, to give an idea of the size. I really loved it.
Philippe also produced a brochure for his farm, which was distributed at the recent Salon Du Cheval World Arabian Championships 2013. He kindly featured my painting on the back cover! It looks amazing, I’m so grateful and proud!
I also completed a commission for Donna Greene of QLD, Australia. A portrait of her beautiful Silvern Glory. Donna has owned him for many years, he is very loved by her. I loved this painting, it has such pretty colours!
Here are some other new painting also!
This one below is my second complete oil painting, inspired by Afrikah ERA. This painting is sold. I LOVED this painting!
And in other exciting news.. a company in Poland named Arabhorsepromotions.com produced a calendar of my art and distributed it to all the VIPs at the Salon Du Cheval, World Arabian Championships 2013 also! This was very exciting for me, it has been a long held dream of mine to exhibit my art at the Salon, so this was a little step in that direction. I’m hoping that oneday I will make it back there in person with my art. Here is a selection of paintings they used for the calendar.. and the ad announcing it!
And in final HUGE news… I have bought my own horse again.. a beautiful purebred arabian gelding named Rokewood Dubai! He is 2yrs old, here are some photos I took of this week! I am so in love, he is my dream arabian! He has all of my favourite lines in his pedigree, he is egyptian, russian, crabbet, spanish and a little polish! a bit of everything. He has five crosses to El Shaklan as well as a cross to El Shaklan’s full sister, Estasha. He also has two crossed to Asfour. I used to look after Asfour and he was one of the special arabians that I loved best. He is very special!
Here is his pedigree! So many incredible, famous, amazing arabians have bought him to me! I’m so in awe of him, I never thought I’d be lucky enough to own such a beautiful arabian again.

So, I think that has bought me up to date a little! I had an exhibition of my paintings at the Canberra National Capital Show 2013 and had a great time. I got a lot of nice feedback from people and sold two paintings, which I’m so grateful for! I will be having another stand at the upcoming East Coast Arabian Show in Sydney, March 2014. I also donated this painting to the NSW Arabian Horse Committee and it was raffled at the National Arabian Stud Show in November just gone.
