I’m in the process of painting a racing scene, hopefully to enter into the Ingliss Art Prize this year. It is coming along SO well! I don’t want to show it yet though, and I’m working on getting permissions etc for the photo anyhow! In between, I had this overpowering urge to draw one of my beloved arabians. So sat down and did this little guy. Here are all the progress shots. He looked so beautiful, and then I decided to try something with the background. Wanting to do go with a dark and smokey look. I think I killed it!! But some friends have encouraged me to perservere with him, so I think we might save him. argh, I really need to work on backgrounds! Not my strong point! However, look at that eye! I’m really happy with him. And he is another all from my minds eye. A little cartoony maybe? The ones I draw from my head always seem to end up looking a bit cartoony I think. Need to work on that!
